The Holy Messenger Of Allah Almighty
Muhammad (peace be upon him), was born in the city of Makah in Saudi Arabia around the year 570. Islam’s basic ideology is based on the fact that there is only one Allah Almighty and there is none admirable of worship except Him Almighty and Allah sent His Prophets (peace be upon him) to guide people what is right and Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessings of Allah SWT be upon him) is the last Prophet sent by Allah Almighty. This forms the first tenet of Islam which says “La ilaha illa Allah, Muhammad Al Rasool Allah”, which means that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the last messenger of Allah Almighty.
Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) lived a life of scarcity from the day he was born till the date he died. Whenever, he had anything precious, be it food, gold, money, or sheep, he was chosen to give all away, still when he and his family were in need.
In an agreed upon hadeeth, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “If I had as a huge deal gold as the heaviness of Uhad, it would not please me to have an only dinar out of it with me after the passage of three days, but I would stop back something for the refund of a debt. I would deal out it among the slaves of Allah Almighty like this and like this and like this.” And he (peace be upon him) pointed in front of him, and on his precise side and on his left side. We then walked a little further and he (peace be upon him) said: “The rich would be poor on the Day of judgment, except he who spent like this and like this and like this,” And he noted as he did the main moment. “But such people are few”.
He was bleeding from head to toe, worn out and tired, he was faced with an option. Should he (peace be upon him) or shouldn’t he (peace be upon him) seek to wipe out the people who had just shamed him (peace be upon him) by having their children run after him out of town while throwing stones at him (peace be upon him) And this was just for sharing his (peace be upon him) message and looking for help for his (peace be upon him) people.
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was in Taif, a flourishing town of green palm trees, vegetables and fruits, about 50 miles southeast of his arid hometown Makah. He (peace be upon him) was hoping that perhaps the people of this town would be interested to his (peace be upon him) message, which had been discarded by most of the Makah people for above a decade.
But the people of Taif proved just as unkind and narrow minded. Not only did they scorn his (peace be upon him) message of God’s Oneness, they turned their children against the Prophet (peace be upon him). In the face of this misery, an angel was sent and offered him with an option: have the full town be destroyed, by God’s will, for such arrogance and frightfulness. He (peace be upon him) could have done it. He (peace be upon him) could have asked that this valley of unkind people be crushed. But he (peace be upon him) didn’t.
